Low Maintenance, Highly Engineered BioSpheres - Science in Action

ALL ABOUT AFRICAN DWARF FROGS

Science - Family Pet - Responsibility

We believe that in our high tech world, we need to maintain a connection with our environment, to understand the balance/ecosystem of nature, and to actively care for non-human inhabitants, African Dwarf Frogs, with whom we share this amazing world.

This can be challenging for many folks - with busy schedules, limited space and fear of high maintenance live critters or plants. Using science and engineering, we bring nature's connection in habitats suitable for today's lifestyle.

These awesome frogs are great for all ages. From households to kid's rooms and offices to classrooms.

Our African dwarf biospheres are a natural biologic filter and require very little maintenance. The entire habitat can support 2 frogs for years with proper care. To minimize our impact on the environment our frogs are sustainably and responsibly raised in the USA.

These crazy amazing enclosures are built on science! Watch this video to learn more about the aquatic nitrogen cycle.

We are regularly asked about our BioSphere sizes for these crazy, amazing critters! We love these frogs and appreciate folks' concerns about their care and habitat.

African Dwarf Frogs are Amphibians - not Fish. Many folks (and web sites) reference habitat sizes based on fish. Like many things on the Internet, we recommend checking the source of the article. Does the author reference where they got their information? As one of the leading caretakers of African Dwarf Frogs, we actively participate in the frog community and lean on experts for advice - which sometimes changes as new research becomes available.

Our BioSpheres are not your typical habit. Highly-engineered, these BioSpheres are approved by Exotic Pet Veterinarians as well as state, federal and international Animal Inspectors.

African Dwarf Frogs are known to typically have poor eyesight - and tend to be bottom feeders.

The pellets are created so that they will sink. On occasion, one frog may have a keener sense than the other. We recommend that you put up to 6 pellets in per feeding (instead of the 4 pellets per feeding in our instructions). Six pellets will not disrupt the chemistry of the BioSphere. This should allow for extra for your second frog.

These pellets are high-protein - and optimized for frogs! It only takes one pellet to provide sustenance for African Dwarf Frogs.

Like most critters, frogs grow differently. Some wider, thinner, thicker, longer. It is easy to assume that a "larger" frog is eating more than his/her BioSphere mate. If one frog is truly lacking adequate nutrition, he/she will regularly nibble at the other frog. Should you see this occurring multiple times in an hour, contact Froggy's Lair for assistance!
